ME 3!
I chatted with the waitress about the parking situation and how it must be impossible to find a place when they are busy. She said parking in the neighborhood is the worst it's ever been. That said, there were only two customers at 0700 on a Tuesday morning. Their breakfast is good but not worth walking 3 blocks on a slow business day. If other days of the week are similar, I'd expect them to close due to lack of parking. BTW, their prices were notably higher so that will also drive (walk) customers away.
I went there today for the first time and its a nice caffe.with awsome service. They get 5 star's from me.
I'm in Idaho...love the place....just heard that...was hoping someone could let me know if it's true!
Street parking only
I'm pretty sure it is
Yes, and I prefer to leave a cash tip
This place has a very cool atmosphere. Lots of interesting decor. It has a bar area where you can get served very quickly. Food was great, but i just had eggs and those are hard to mess up. Portion size was very large. I couldn't finish. Ordered bacon and you get 4 slices and they are thick.
A good breakfast option with a classic diner feel, great nostalgic pieces and decor all around. I came with a big crew and the waitress took care of us in speedy fashion and we had endless cups of coffee. Ordered the Omelet with hot links, I think the Jack special and it hit the spot
Absolutely charming, 1 breakfast plate is enough food for 2. & the waiting area coffee cart is a great touch. Parking can be tough, so drop off a friend to get your name on the waiting list quicker.
Wonderful service, vibe, and food. The coffee here is just divine - never bitter, always fresh, and comes with non-stop refills by the most attentive staff. The Cajun Chicken scramble with avocado is excellent! A happy regular. :)
Even at 9:30am on a Sunday, there was a fifteen minute wait. The food and the place is great though and you do get good value and taste for your money. We didn't have any issues finding parking but it's a residential area so I can totally imagine why you would have a problem on a busy day.
Famous neighborhood joint with a long history and huge menu. Free coffee while you wait in line. Can be tricky to find parking during peak times. Fast service and great food. Lot of options to choose from.
Wally's oldies with link sausage and mushrooms and Spinach ham Benedict, were really good, tasty and not too cheesy atall. We tasted teriyaki steak from friends. This was juicy and delicious. Highly recommend for breakfast if you are in San Mateo.
Homey American breakfast place with a cute back patio to enjoy large portions of comfort food when the weather is fair. Don't expect farm-to-table benedict or fancy coffee; enjoy the diner-y food and friendly service and take a nap after. There's usually a wait on the weekends.
The best breakfast place in the Bay Area. Parking is free and unlimited in the area. Atmosphere in the restaurant is unique and welcoming. Staff are very polite, helpful and resourceful. Portions are huge, I hardly finished half of my omlette. Definitely will go here often, I discovered an awesome place and want you to see and taste it yourself. You will definitely enjoy it.
Pleasant cafe in a residential neighborhood. Internal decor makes it resemble an old fashioned diner, bustling with knickknacks and Americana. Very amiable staff. Generous menu selection. I had the Chicken Fried Steak Teriyaki. Rich and flavorful dish, though the mashed potatoes were just a bit dry for my taste. I'd definitely return.
Once a month my husband and I come here their food is delicious and they have the best hot coffee free outside while you wait 😉
Loved the dining experience here. We were seated outside as soon as we walked in, and although an indoor experience is usually preferred, their backyard will make you feel like you never left the restaurant with its eclectic decor and the proximity of the tables and seats outdoors. Ordered the BLT, biscuits and gravy, and one of their signature hashes and everything was delicious without the obnoxious portions as well. The coffee was actually pretty delicious and they were happy to refill as needed too. Each staff member took the time to acknowledge us and make sure we were enjoying ourselves too. You may have to park a bit into one of the neighborhood streets a short walk away, though, as parking was tight.
It's the hole-in-the-wall breakfast places that always stand out as the best breakfast choices, and Nini's was no exception. The food was great and the service was wonderful. I was a bit worried it might be cash-only at first glance of the adorable antique cash register, but they happily accepted credit/debit cards as well.

Nice place to get breakfast. Fast service..
This is my second amazing visit here. To start with, on a busy memorial day mid-morning it was packed with a sizable wait line in the front however I came alone and snagged a spot at the bar right away which is awesome! I first got some coffee and it is a step above some other places which is quite good. I ordered the Italian omlette which I've never seen anywhere else. It had cheese, sausage and ground beef inside with their meat sauce on top served with grilled potatoes with onions(I opted out of the bell peppers with it), it also came with toast on the side. The tastes and everything went so well together. I felt like it was some Italian dinner dish but it was an omlette. It was so tasty, filling and satisfying! I would get this next time but there's just so many more amazing dishes to choose from!
Nini’s is a must stop if you’re in the area - staff is great and food / throwback ambiance is perfect. I went for breakfast and loved the eggs and bacon plate - scrambled eggs were delicious, bacon was great, they let you order your home fries to your liking (with/without onions and/or bell peppers), and the coffee was hot and kept coming. Basically, it’s the idyllic old school diner / neighborhood restaurant. Highly, highly recommend and will be back whenever I’m in SF! Super close to the airport as well!
Great place! Best costumer service! all around good food.. will be coming back for more.
Great spot and a super nice staff and homie feel. They'll make you just about anything here too... The menu is a long but whatever you want, if they have it.... They'll make it.
This is the best breakfast on the peninsula. The server Wendy was outstanding. The only negative is they don't accept AMEX.
I had the vegetarian omelette and my wife the Reuben sandwich. Both were very good. We sat in the outdoor patio. They turned on the neighboring tables heat lamp which make it more toasty.
The menu is so big that you could come here every day for a year and not eat the same thing. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. The only bummer about this place is that because it's so good, getting a table can sometimes take forever. Plus, finding a parking spot can be a real headache. Despite these downsides and the fact that Nini's is located "in the middle of nowhere" relatively, it still deserves a solid 5-star rating. I have never had an average or unsatisfactory meal at Nini's.
The reviews do not lie. The food, the portions, the service and coffee are great here at Nini’s. Free coffee is offered outside while you wait to be seated. 😊
Worth the detour. They don't take reservations as far as I know and the lines are always long. The food is done really well, and this place has preserved it's history really well. We tried a few items and they were all good, though the breakfast items were better than the lunch ones. Worth going here once for the experience itself
Wow is all I can say about this place. It is definitely worth the wait. A friend of ours called this place a greasy spoon. Not even close. The food was excellent. The portions were very large, with fresh ingredients. The service was quick and friendly. The prices were very reasonable. Try to eat on the patio, you'll love the decor. There is a reason why this place has been here since 1955.
What a cool little place! Food was good, service was great, ambiance was awesome. If you are in the area, would suggest it for a great fun experience.
This place is the best around. As soon as you walk in Nini's you feel like you have been part of the family for years. It is covered in local sports team photos but not in a cheap Applebee's kind of way you can tell that they live here and love this area. Food 5/5Atmosphere 5/5
Great service, it was packed but the staff was calm and very welcoming. We waited 20 min with a coffee before we could be placed and order a delicious breakfast 🤩We'll come back
